Melihate has a wide range of experience ranging from Property Law, Employment Law,Litigation and Public Inquiries. Her passion, drive and strong desire to seek justice for her clients has allowed her to thrive in complex high-profile inquiries such as the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

Melihate’s Property experience includes, but is not limited to, contentious and non-contentious matters involving residential and commercial property transactions (including both freehold and leasehold titles), the granting of leases, lease extensions and renewals, and other landlord and tenant work. Melihate understands that a property, be it residential or commercial, is a huge investment and requires specific duty and care, attention to detail as well as a solicitor who is hands-on. She does just that, and more, whilst always providing a professional and bespoke service for each of her clients.

She firmly believes in keeping her clients close, keeping them happy, and, more importantly, keeping them in the loop.

Melihate’s Employment experience includes unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal and discriminatory claims on the basis of religion, disability and sex discrimination.  Melihate is an advocate for rights of disabled persons and her speciality is Disability Discrimination. She has previously been described as a ‘strong and fierce advocate’ by His Honour Giles Forrester, so rest assured she is guaranteed to be working her utmost with a view to achieving the best possible outcome for you. Melihate has a genuine passion for Employment Law and obtained a Master of Law (LL.M) in 2017.

Melihate is an active and proud member of British Albanian Lawyers Association (BALA), an organisation helping aspiring Albanian and Kosovan lawyers. She is also a proud volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity very close to her heart.

Melihate is also an enthusiastic hiker, weight lifter and tennis player.

Complexity and types of issues you deal with?

Residential Lease Extensions & Collective Enfranchisement:  Assisting clients extend their leases and purchase their freehold both within and outside of the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, including applications to the First Tier Tribunal, and Courts where necessary. 

Property Litigation: Acting for clients in relation to disputes with Landlords/Tenants, in respect of building disputes and lease issues, and general contract disputes as well.
